February 2019

Dear Parents,

What a wild Catholic Schools Week! Much of the week was cancelled due to the cold weather, but we crammed lots into Friday. We had our Dress Down Day,  attended the all school Mass, enjoyed popsicles and had STREAM day, which is always a highlight for the students.

Home & School created a student gift basket and a parent gift basket that were raffled off during Catholic Schools Week. The winners were Camden Steadman and Mr. & Mrs. Friedrich. Congratulations and a thank you to Home & School for providing the gift baskets.

The following is a wonderful passage to reflect on God's love and how it should impact our lives.

If we love one another, God lives in us, and God's love is perfected in us. ~1 John:12a

I want to thank all of our parents for making the first semester truly gratifying for the teachers, the staff, myself, and especially for your children.  We are very blessed to have such wonderful parents that support and care about St. Raphael School.

Good luck to each student as they await notification from the high schools.

SERVICE PROJECTS

Builder's Club collected new and/or slightly used coats in January to benefit the families of St. Stanislaus School.  They had heard that many of their students were in need of winter coats, so Builder's Club answered the call by holding a coat drive.  Homerooms 1A, 3A & 7 won a pizza lunch for having the largest number of donations. The pizza lunch will be on Tuesday, Feb. 12 during their lunch hour.  Thank you to Builder's Club for thinking of others and leading by their caring example.

UNIFORMS/P.E. & Girls' Jumper

Parents will now have the option to purchase P.E. uniforms at the on-line store, The Ohio Team Shop or at HomeTown Threads located in North Olmsted. The uniforms are virtually the same, so wearing either uniform is acceptable.

The primary girls will now have the option of 2 different styled jumpers. Either jumper is acceptable. A picture of the new option is shown. A sample of the jumper is hanging in my office.

BLIZZARD BAGS

We have used 3 days of the 4 days reserved for calamity or weather closures.  After we have used all 4 days, then we will need to do BLIZZARD BAGS.  We do BLIZZARD BAGS so we do not need to add additional days onto the school year. The bags can be found on the school website with directions. Hopefully, we will not have the need to do complete the bags.  You will be notified in the event if it is warranted.
