Job Openings for the 2026-2027 School Year
7th/8th Grade Math Teacher (Full-time)
Saint Raphael School is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled, and qualified full-time Eighth Grade Homeroom Teacher. The successful candidate will provide mathematics instruction for seventh- and eighth-grade students while serving as the eighth-grade homeroom teacher. This individual will foster a Christ-centered learning environment, promote academic excellence, and support students' spiritual, social, and emotional growth in accordance with the mission of Saint Raphael School and the educational standards of the Diocese of Cleveland and the State of Ohio.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid State of Ohio teaching licensure.
- Virtus Certification.
- Current BCII and FBI background checks.
- Must have, or be actively enrolled in, a cohort for Religion Certification through the Diocese of Cleveland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume direct responsibility for students throughout the school day, from arrival through dismissal.
- Teach seventh and eighth grade mathematics curriculum in alignment with Diocese of Cleveland and State of Ohio standards.
- Serve as the eighth grade homeroom teacher.
- Fulfill assigned supervision duties.
- Maintain daily schedule with arrival no later than 8:20 AM and dismissal no earlier than 4:00 PM.
- Moderate at least one student club and one all-school activity.
- Collaborate with administration in coordinating high school shadow days, preparing high school applications and letters of recommendation, and organizing eighth grade activities, including the Baccalaureate Mass, Awards Ceremony, and Graduation.
- Lead eighth grade Capstone projects.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities, staff meetings, and professional development (before, during, or after school).
- Assist in OCSAA planning and implementation.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
School & Community Involvement:
Attend and participate in school events, including but not limited to:
- Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Open Houses
- Curriculum Nights
- Christmas and Spring programs
- Sacramental preparations and ceremonies (as applicable)
- Annual seventh grade Damascus Leadership Camp (two nights/three days) as one of the designated junior high faculty members
Compliance & Documentation Requirements:
Maintain and submit all required documentation to the Diocese of Cleveland and/or school administration, including:
- BCII/FBI fingerprinting records
- Official transcripts
- Catechist certification
- State licensure documentation
- Virtus training and monthly bulletins
- Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP)
- Safety Policy and Conduct of Ministry acknowledgments
- Signed Employee Handbook and Acceptable Use Policy
- Any additional required diocesan documentation
Full-Time Kindergarten Aide
Saint Raphael School is seeking a dedicated, caring, and energetic Full-Time Kindergarten Aide to join our school community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting our mission of academic excellence and faith formation.
Position Overview
The Kindergarten Aide will work closely with our three kindergarten teachers to support student learning and classroom operations. This individual will play an important role in creating a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for students while assisting teachers with instructional and organizational needs.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the three kindergarten teachers with daily classroom activities and instructional support.
- Providing in-class interventions and academic support to individual students and small groups.
- Preparing and organizing educational materials, classroom resources, and instructional activities for both the Kindergarten and Fifth Grade classrooms.
- Monitoring students during lunch and recess periods to ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Supervising students during transitions and other school activities as assigned.
- Assisting with classroom management and maintaining an organized learning environment.
- Supporting teachers with clerical and organizational tasks as needed.
- Demonstrating professionalism and serving as a positive role model for students.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Organized, dependable, and flexible.
- Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and diocesan safe environment requirements.
